• AI Assistance: We use AI as a research and drafting tool. All content is reviewed and approved by a human before publication.
• Official sources: Regulatory claims (visa requirements, tax thresholds, legal obligations) are checked against Dutch government sources — IND, Belastingdienst, SVB. Sources are linked directly so you can verify them yourself.
• Periodic updates: Guides are reviewed when rules or prices change. Where we know a last-checked date, we note it on the page.
• Limitations: Our guides are for informational purposes only. For your specific situation, consult the relevant authority or a certified professional.

We look at factors that matter to expats, not to the average Dutch consumer. Across all categories this generally includes:

• English support — app, helpdesk, and onboarding in English
• Expat-specific onboarding — can you sign up without a BSN or Dutch address history?
• Pricing transparency — are costs clearly stated, including fees that typically affect newcomers?
• Contractual flexibility — can you leave without a long notice period?
• Provider reliability — financially stable and established in the Dutch market?

Not every provider has been tested by going through a live sign-up. Where we have personally used a product we say so. Where our review is based on official documentation, publicly available terms, and community experience, we say that too. We will expand first-hand testing over time.
