- Check the mover's credentials: FIDI-FAIM is an independently audited quality certification. IAM membership, IAMX validation and IAMTrusted status can provide additional information when checking a mover, but membership alone is not a guarantee of service quality.
- For non-EU moves: Dutch Customs says the household-goods import declaration is handled through a removal or transport company. Ask whether the mover will manage the exemption process and what documents it needs from you.
